Page Numbers
Stamp page numbers
Add page / total page numbers to every page of your PDF in a selected position.
Choose a position and add page numbers to every page.
Place page numbers clearly
Numbered pages help when you are sharing a report, course handout, proposal, or scanned packet and people need to refer to the same page. Choose a placement that stays clear of existing headers, footers, signatures, or page content before preparing the document for its next reader.
Once you select one of the six available positions, the tool applies page / total numbering to every page in the PDF. It works in your browser rather than sending the document elsewhere. The displayed number style and font are fixed, so the placement is the only layout choice.
What you cannot adjust
The tool numbers all pages; it does not offer a way to start on a later page, omit a cover, or choose selected pages. You also cannot alter the number format or font. Check whether existing material occupies the chosen corner or edge before using the result in a final document.
Your PDF is handled within the browser on your device while page / total numbers are added. The file is not uploaded for this operation, which is useful when the document contains material you would rather keep on your own computer.
Frequently asked questions
Can I number only the pages after a cover or leave some pages unnumbered?
No. Page Numbers adds the page / total label to every page in the PDF, so a cover, divider, or appendix receives a number too. If certain pages must remain without one, prepare a version that excludes them or use a workflow that supports page-by-page selection.
Which position should I choose if my PDF already has a header or footer?
Review a representative page, especially pages with different layouts, and select a top or bottom position that does not collide with text, dates, logos, or signatures. You can align the label left, center, or right, but neither its font nor its page / total format can be adjusted.
